What goes wrong if the knob is spinning continuosly by itself, even i I turn the knob at the star/stop position…the knob spins by itself in a clockwise order.

Great video – managed to isolate the problem on my Zanussi ZWF 16581 W
washing machine to the main water inlet solenoid (open circuit). Swapped
the solenoid with the one that controls the water feed to the detergent
tray which kept the machine running till the new part arrived., Thanks for
posting my wife was really impressed!!.

Thanks for reply Paul – Beer donation on its way to you. Just to update the
post for the Zanussi. Swapping the solenoid from the detergent feed to the
water feed as an interim repair didn’t work in practice. Logically it was
worth a try but the control circuitry needed both solenoids to operate.
Once the new part had been installed all was well.
